Ahhh Valentine’s Day… a day of love for young and old… for new love and established relationships… for couples AND families?
While Valentine’s Day is often seen as a day for blossoming love to declare itself, children also get value from witnessing and being part of a loving relationship between parents and other signifiant adults in their life.
Parents/Caregivers who display love, affection and respect for their partner are teaching those values to the children. Children who are included in this are being shown how loving adults interact and are learning those important life skills.
It stands to reason that children who experience this from a young age go on to display these behaviours themselves later in life.
So get the kids minded and have a lovely dinner out with your partner, but also use this time to include your children somehow and let them know love for them is included in the love for your partner.
