With Fathe’s Day around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about ways to celebrate Dad. On a typical Father’s Day, the list of activities to do to celebrate his special day are endless. You can visit sports events, go to his favourite restaurant, visit a theme park, the list goes on This year it’s a little harder. While some restrictions have been lifted, there is still the burden of social distancing, wearing facemasks, and dealing with closed venues, all of which can put a dampener on the occasion. This is why we’ve compiled a list of Father’s Day activities to celebrate your Dad in a big way from home. This is so he feels loved and appreciated without having to worry about the burden of COVID-19.
- Family Brunch
Instead of going out to a restaurant, why not stay at home and make a family brunch? This is something you can do with the kids while Dad is having a sleep in. I’m sure he’d appreciate some relaxing family time with a side of beer-mosa!
- Outdoor Movie Night
Why not snuggle up in your PJ’s for your family’s very own outdoor movie night? Simply shine a projector against a blank wall and watch some of Dad’s favourite movies. You can even pitch a tent and fill it with blankets and pillows. Make Dad feel extra special by preparing some of his favourite theatre snacks.
- Family Game Night
Game nights have seen a spike in popularity during the COVID outbreak, and many have a newfound appreciation for them. We all know that what Dad really wants is quality bonding time with the family, so get some favourites together and let Dad show his competitive side with classics like Jenga and Charades.
- Prepare some Yummy Sweets!
Show Dad that you care by making him a special Father’s Day cake. Pick his favourite flavour and try decorating it with items that show case his interests. For example, a chocolate flavoured golf theme cake! This is something you can do with the kids and gives them an opportunity to get creative and show Dad how much they care.
- Backyard BBQ
Grill up some of Dad’s favourite foods while he plays some outdoor games with the kids in the sunshine. Show your kids you can still have fun even when the world looks a little different than it used to. Enjoy some frisbee and totem tennis before Dad gets spoilt with a rack of ribs and a big steak!
We hope this list has helped you find the perfect way to celebrate Dad and give him the love and attention he deserves on his special day. Happy Father’s Day!
